Legal
Last updated 21 July 2026. Please read these terms carefully before using HavenTrade.
This is a plain-language draft describing how HavenTrade actually works. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should not be treated as a final compliance document — get qualified legal review before relying on it, especially for regulatory submissions.
By creating a HavenTrade account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use HavenTrade.
HavenTrade is a trading practice and access app. It provides free paper (simulated) trading with virtual cash, and lets you connect your own accounts with third-party regulated brokers — currently Deriv, and Alpaca for stocks and ETFs — to place real trades using your own money. HavenTrade also offers optional AI-generated market summaries, portfolio commentary, and a chat assistant, plus a paid subscription tier for additional features.
HavenTrade does not itself hold, custody, or transmit your trading funds. Live trades execute directly in your own Deriv or Alpaca account, under those providers' own terms and regulatory status.
HavenTrade is not a broker-dealer, bank, or investment adviser, and nothing in the app is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Deriv and Alpaca are independent, separately regulated companies responsible for the trades executed in your accounts with them. You are solely responsible for your own trading decisions.
You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to create a HavenTrade account. Live trading additionally requires you to independently meet Deriv's or Alpaca's own eligibility, identity verification, and country-availability requirements — HavenTrade has no control over and makes no promise about whether those providers accept you as a customer.
Live trading carries real risk of loss, including the loss of your full deposit. Past performance, paper-trading results, and AI-generated commentary are not indicators of future results. Only trade money you can afford to lose. HavenTrade requires an explicit confirmation step before any live order is placed or closed — that confirmation is your acknowledgement of this risk, not a substitute for your own judgment.
News summaries, portfolio commentary, and chat responses are generated by a third-party AI model and may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. They are provided for informational purposes only and are not financial advice or a recommendation to buy or sell anything.
Paid features are billed on the plan you select at checkout, processed via M-Pesa. Subscriptions renew for the period shown at purchase unless cancelled beforehand. Fees for paid HavenTrade features are separate from, and not refunded on the basis of, any losses in your live trading account.
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
Don't use HavenTrade to break the law, interfere with the app's operation, attempt to access other users' accounts or data, or circumvent Deriv's or Alpaca's own terms of service.
You can stop using HavenTrade and disconnect any connected broker account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Disconnecting from HavenTrade does not affect your independent relationship or funds held with Deriv or Alpaca.
HavenTrade is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, HavenTrade is not liable for trading losses, missed trades, data feed delays or errors, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app.
We may update these terms as HavenTrade's features change. We'll update the "Last updated" date above; continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms.
