General
Is HavenTrade a broker?+
No. Paper trading runs entirely inside HavenTrade with virtual cash. Live trading and investing connect to your own Deriv or Alpaca account via OAuth — we never hold or touch your funds. Deriv and Alpaca execute the trades; HavenTrade gives you the interface, analytics, and AI on top.
Do I need to download anything?+
No. HavenTrade runs entirely in your browser — no app install, no waiting on app store review.
Money & safety
What happens to my money when I go live?+
It stays in your own Deriv or Alpaca account the entire time. HavenTrade never custodies funds. Deriv guarantees your balance can never go below $0; Alpaca brokerage services are provided by Alpaca Securities LLC, a member of FINRA/SIPC.
Is live trading or investing risky?+
Yes — both involve real money and real risk of loss, same as trading or investing directly on Deriv or Alpaca. Only trade or invest money you can afford to lose. Paper trading carries no financial risk since it uses virtual cash.
Markets & trading
What markets and trade types are covered?+
Paper trading covers stocks, crypto, forex, commodities, and indices — no restrictions. Live trading (via your Deriv account) offers every trade type on synthetic indices, and Multipliers on forex, crypto, and commodities. Live investing (via your Alpaca account) covers stocks and ETFs with market and limit orders.
Can I invest in real stocks and ETFs?+
Yes — connect your own Alpaca account from the Invest tab and place market or limit orders with real money. Your funds stay in your Alpaca account; HavenTrade never holds them.
Is the AI giving me financial advice?+
No. The AI Assistant, AI Coach, News Insights, and Daily Digest are informational tools only — they are not financial advice, and trading decisions remain entirely yours.
Billing
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes — subscriptions are billed monthly or annually with no lock-in, and you can cancel whenever you like.
How do I pay?+
M-Pesa STK push for instant mobile payment, or card/bank transfer via Paystack — billed in KES.
Do I have to buy the whole Pro bundle?+
No — Charting & Orders, Analytics & Export, AI Suite, and SMS/Email Alerts are each available à la carte, so you only pay for what you use. The Pro bundle is just a discount for taking all of them together.
